Welcome

From here, you can peek through the dusty window that shines a little bit of sundown onto my untidy mind... illuminating the masses of undisturbed cobwebs.

Ohio Winter Storm Feb 5, 2010

Now that I have a few minutes, I’m finally gonna post the images from the Ohio Winter storm that just blew through here a couple days ago.  I.HATE.SNOW.  Let me just set the record straight.  But, no matter how much I dislike it, I can’t help but stand in awe of it’s beauty when it’s left undisturbed in the natural landscape here near the Hocking Hills.  I’m just gonna post the images, maybe throw in a comment or two, but as the old saying goes, “A picture’s worth a thousand words.”

One of my first glimpses of the damage on Saturday morning.

Saturday morning. Yes, that's snow up to the bumper of a car.

View of the snow off our back deck.

View of the snow off our back deck... nice pile there on the railing, huh?

View out the front door.

View out the front door. Those are the power lines. They held up well! No power outages for us!!

These little pine trees are roughly 2 to 3 feet tall... without the snow.

A LOT of little pine trees near our home. Most stand roughly 4 feet tall.

This picture is kinda surreal.

It looks like I did some sort of magical paint thing with this picture, but it's an honest untouched photo I snapped on our drive into town.

Typical Ohio doom-n-gloom winter sky.

And they wonder why I hate winter!?? Where's the SUN!!!???

Snow is HEAVY man.

Snow weighs heavily on this hardy pine tree. Poor thing.

View down our driveway.

A view down our driveway. Again, those are some very snow-laden power lines. Glad they didn't drop.

That’s it for now, folks.  I see that we’re under another Winter Storm Watch beginning tomorrow and running through Wednesday.  Oh.The.Joy.

Did I mention that I HATE SNOW??!!!???

  • I snapped a few pics of our storm here in southern OH too. Then I went into hibernation mode and refused to leave the house – okay i went out a couple of times, but that’s all. Too many reminders of the Ice Incident of 2009 which left me in agony for 10 months while I healed. Now a few inches of snow and Devoted Spouse takes me wherever I need to go…and like the gentleman he is, he guides my steps on any slippery surface. I am so ready for Spring, no matter how pretty the snow looks on the tree branches. sigh…

Oh, I can totally understand. If I absolutely don’t have to go anywhere, I don’t! Unfortunately, some people don’t learn… and BILL put his mom’s car in the ditch AGAIN today.
